When commercial airline travel is not a safe option because of a child’s illness, AeroAngel coordinates free flights on business jet aircraft to provide access to distant, life-saving medical care anywhere in the country. AeroAngel limits its flights to critically ill children (and some young adults) who are not able to fly on a commercial airline flight due to their fragile medical conditions and/or critical care needs.
The Air Care Alliance helps patients find the right charitable aviation organization to meet their needs and connects them directly to service. Free flights are provided by qualified charitable aviation organizations through volunteer pilots flying private aircraft.
Air Charity Network (formerly AFA) provides access for people in need seeking free air transportation to specialized health care facilities or distant destinations due to family, community or national crisis.
Alex's Lemonade Stand Foundation
ALSF’s Travel For Care program is to ensure children battling childhood cancer have the financial assistance needed to travel to clinical trials, experimental therapeutics, or treatment innovations not currently available at their local institution. Funding for transportation and lodging is available for eligible families who are financially burdened by traveling away from their home hospital for care that is only available elsewhere.
Along Comes Hope provides financial and other resources to support families of children with cancer through financial assistance with travel for treatment. They can assist with airfare, lodging, gas and groceries.
The American Cancer Society is a nationwide, community-based voluntary health organization that is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, to help guide you through your cancer experience. The American Cancer Society's Road to Recovery program offer transportation assistance to medical appointments. If you need a ride to treatment, the American Cancer Society may be able to help.
Angel Flight
Angel Flight is a group of charitable aviation organizations of regional pilots and other volunteers serving the community with free private air transportation for patients with medical and financial need. Corporate Angel Network helps cancer patients fly free to treatment on empty seats of corporate jets.
Houston Ground Angels is a network of volunteers who donate their time to help provide free transportation to patients from the Houston area airports to their required healthcare facilities.
LifeLine Pilots coordinates free air transportation, through a network of volunteer pilots, for patients with financial and medical need.
Mercy Medical Angels is the largest charitable medical transportation system in the world. Mercy Medical Angels' vision is to ensure that no one in need is denied medical care due to lack of transportation. Mercy Medical Angels removes the barrier to medical care with transportation on the ground with gas cards, bus and train tickets and in the air with flights flown by volunteer pilots and the commercial airlines.
Miracle Flights provides commercial plane tickets to all U.S.-based medical treatment facilities at no cost to families.
Patient Airlift Services (PALS)
PALS arranges free flights for medical patients requiring medical diagnosis, treatment or follow-up who cannot afford or are unable to fly commercially.
